Artist's Description
The Milky Way center is below the horizon in January and only the upper, less brilliant part is visible. It is still a spectacular sight with the millions of visible stars in the dark skies of Arches National Park. The rock formations in this view of Courthouse Towers are The Three Gossips and Sheep Rock. The glow on the horizon is the last gasp of sunset and the bright celestial object is the planet Jupiter.
