Lingering twilight from the western horizon lit this landscape and the city lights of Moab, Utah illuminated the clouds as a brilliant Milky Way rose above Balanced Rock in Arches National Park.
About Dan Norris
A photography trip to Moab in 1986 was a life-changing event for me. I fell in love with the spectacular scenery of southeast Utah's canyon country and the challenge of capturing on film the incredible light, land forms and remnants of ancient cultures. In 1989, I began conducting photo workshops to the area and in 1992 made Moab my permanent home. I began making the transition to digital in 2005 and the majority of my images have been made with Canon digital equipment since 2008. In addition to workshops, I started self-publishing my photographs on greeting cards in 1989 through Ancient Images, a company I founded and operated for 20 years.
