This view of a brilliant sunset over the Moab Rim is composed of 5 overlapping photos on slide film. The scanned images were stitched together in Photoshop. The view is looking toward the town of Moab, Utah from a perch above Kane Creek Canyon west of town. Exposures and the area covered in this panorama were different than in the first panorama.
A photography trip to Moab in 1986 was a life-changing event for me. I fell in love with the spectacular scenery of southeast Utah's canyon country and the challenge of capturing on film the incredible light, land forms and remnants of ancient cultures. In 1989, I began conducting photo workshops to the area and in 1992 made Moab my permanent home. I began making the transition to digital in 2005 and the majority of my images have been made with Canon digital equipment since 2008. In addition to workshops, I started self-publishing my photographs on greeting cards in 1989 through Ancient Images, a company I founded and operated for 20 years.
