The Milky Way and the Moon from Marlboro Point Baby Onesie

I used a 2 million candle power incandescent spotlight to light the towers at Marlboro Point. I didn't realize I was in the frame until I processed the image. The towers are in Canyonlands National Park. The view point is BLM land south west of Moab, Utah.

A photography trip to Moab in 1986 was a life-changing event for me. I fell in love with the spectacular scenery of southeast Utah's canyon country and the challenge of capturing on film the incredible light, land forms and remnants of ancient cultures. In 1989, I began conducting photo workshops to the area and in 1992 made Moab my permanent home. I began making the transition to digital in 2005 and the majority of my images have been made with Canon digital equipment since 2008. In addition to workshops, I started self-publishing my photographs on greeting cards in 1989 through Ancient Images, a company I founded and operated for 20 years.
