Sunset rainbow over Garden Of Eden, Arches National Park. Capturing this image was definitely being at the right place at the right time with the right angle of view. A friend was in the park at the same time, but about a half mile west of me, and he didn't see a rainbow at all.

A photography trip to Moab in 1986 was a life-changing event for me. I fell in love with the spectacular scenery of southeast Utah's canyon country and the challenge of capturing on film the incredible light, land forms and remnants of ancient cultures. In 1989, I began conducting photo workshops to the area and in 1992 made Moab my permanent home. I began making the transition to digital in 2005 and the majority of my images have been made with Canon digital equipment since 2008. In addition to workshops, I started self-publishing my photographs on greeting cards in 1989 through Ancient Images, a company I founded and operated for 20 years.
